A BUENA ONDA SUMMER SERIES //
NEW YORK TO NEW JERSEY
Meet Bill Murray – a quasi-New Yorker based in New Jersey, capturing the serenity of the suburbs and classic car culture in North Jersey.
"The onset of summer in the northeast is unmistakable. People emerge from their winter haze, as the streets are overcome with a special sense of freedom and joy. From New York to New Jersey, people, for a moment, can remember their childhoods — the feeling of the last day of school, riding bikes through their hometown, sitting around a fire on a breezy night at the shore. No matter your age the feeling of summer never changes.
A lot of my photography — this series included — is inspired by my childhood. As a suburban kid, I’m forever bound to the memories of reveling in the hot summer light, hanging with friends in empty parking lots, or exploring the woods near the home I grew up in. And while those days are long gone, I use photography to express my nostalgia for those much simpler times."
